The seventh grade has gotten off to an exciting start this year! Recently, the seventh-graders went on a field trip to Fairview Lake Camp. During this trip, students had the opportunity to hike part of the Appalachian Trail and look at the view from the top of the ridge. On the way up, students learned about the different rock formations and erosions due to glaciers from the past, compared and contrasted different forms of life at various elevations, and experienced how sound waves traveled by creating a group echo. Students also enjoyed activities like archery, rock wall climbing, canoeing, and stream ecology. The trip will surely be a memorable part of their seventh grade year.
As the holiday season approaches, the seventh grade is organizing a food drive to support the Interfaith Food Pantry. Students are working together in groups to festively decorate the collection boxes, which will be delivered to each homebase. They will be spreading the word around school to donate non-perishable foods to support the food drive, which begins on October 15 and ends November 1. Students will then sort the collected foods to deliver to the pantry. Students are enjoying working together with their peers and feel proud to be helping those in need have a happy Thanksgiving dinner.
